A Thot Selection is a selection of thots that can be used to relocate thots within the same host note, framed, deleted or destroyed together, or exported into the currently framed note or thot.
Toggle the Thot Selection Venture
To view, change, move, delete, or unmount thot selections in an editor, activate the Thot Selections venture by going to → Venture → Thot Selections . The puck will now have either a or icon. In the toolbar, you should also see an active icon, which means thot selections are visible within the editor. To toggle this on/off, simply tap this icon in the toolbar.
Adding thots to a thot selection
With the Thot Selection Venture toggled on, make sure the puck has the icon. If instead the puck has the icon, swipe the puck to the left and release it to switch to Selecting Thots Mode. When Selecting Thots Mode is on, tap thots to add or remove them and their descendants from the current thot selection. To add or remove a single thot, press on a thot and swipe to the left then release.
Anchor Thots
When a thot is added to a thot selection before one of the thot's ancestor thots are, the thot becomes an anchor thot to the thot selection. This means when the thot selection is moved, it will appear adjacent to all other anchor thots within the thot selection. To clear a thot of being an anchor thot when it has an ancestor thot that is also a part of the thot selection, simply tap the thot in order to dismiss its anchor thot status. The feature of adding anchor thots in this way enables quick inversion of a nested thot's relevance upon porting its thot selection. Oftentimes the last thot created in a line of reasoning becomes the first thot and worthy of labeling everything above it.
Moving a Thot Selection
To move a selection of one or more thots in a thot selection within the same host note, first ensure there is one or more thots selected. Make sure the Thot Selection Venture is toggled on and ensure the puck has the icon. If the puck has the icon instead, swipe the puck to the left and release it to switch to Porting Thots Mode. Then, place the cursor in a thot you would like to port the current thot selection underneath. Lastly, press the puck's icon to port the thot selection.
Hint
The thots selected within the current thot selection remains highlighted as long as the Thot Selection Venture is toggled on.
This allows easy toggling back and forth between Selecting Thots Mode and Porting Thots Mode so that thots can be edited as a thot selection forms.
