Frame

The  Frame allows for thots, notes, and thot selections to interact with one another.

A thot, note, or thot selection can be framed. A new host note can be navigated to and the framed item can now interact in one of many ways.

To have the actively framed item interact with the active editor, tap the icon to select an option from the menu.

Frame an Item

Open an editor. Place the cursor in a thot, then go to → Frame Thots (available when a  Thot Selection is active) or → Frame Note (available when a header thot is active) or → Frame Thot .

Frame Browser

Open the Frame Browser

Press the label of the active framed item to open the Frame browser.

Activate Previously Framed Item

Select a previously framed item by pressing the framed item's label.

Unframing an Item

To unframe a framed item, find the framed item in the framed items list and swipe left to reveal a red X icon. Press the X icon to confirm removing said framed item.

Close the Frame Browser

Swipe down to confirm any changes or press Cancel to exit without changing the active Frame.

Toggle Showing Frames

If the Frame is not showing and you have framed items, then go to → Show Frames or → More → Show Frames to show the active Frame.

If the described menu options above are disabled, it may be because you have nothing framed yet. Upon framing an item, the Frame will immediately show.

To hide the active Frame, go to → Hide Frames or → More → Hide Frames to show the active Frame. Alternatively, you may press the label of the active framed item to open the Frame browser, then tap the selected frame item to hide the active Frame from showing, then swipe down to close the Frame browser.

Open Framed Item in New Editor

To open the framed item in a new editor, press the image to the left of the framed item (when the frame is showing).

Interacting with a Thot

Reference Thot

This action is only available when a thot is framed. This action inserts a thot reference to the framed thot under the active thot.

Share Thot

This action is only available when a body thot is active and either a note or thot is currently framed. This action inserts a thot reference to the active thot under the framed note or thot.

Export Thot

This action is only available when a body thot is active and either a note or thot is currently framed. This action exports the active note's entire thot tree into the framed note or thot.

Import Thot

This action is only available when a thot is framed. This action imports the framed thot's thot tree under the active thot.

Interacting with a Note

Reference Note

This action is only available when a note is framed. If a reference selector is active, the framed note will be selected for said selector. Otherwise, the framed note will be inserted into the active thot as a note reference.

Share Note

This action is only available when a header thot is active and either a note or thot is currently framed. This action inserts a thot reference to the active thot under the framed note or thot.

Export Note

This action is only available when a header thot is active and either a note or thot is currently framed. This action exports the active note's entire thot tree into the framed note or thot.

Import Note

This action is only available when a note is framed. This action imports the framed note's thot tree under the active thot.

Interacting with a Thot Selection

Reference Thots

This action is only available when a thot selection is framed. This inserts thot references under the active thot for each of the framed thot selection's anchor thots.

Import Thots

This action is only available when a thot selection is framed. This action imports all thots belonging to the framed thot selection under the active thot.

Share Thots

This action is only available when the thot selection venture is active. This action shares all anchor thots within the active thot selection by inserting a thot reference to each anchor thot under the framed note or thot. This action is disabled if no thots currently belong to the active thot selection.

Export Thots

This action is only available when the thot selection venture is active. This action exports all thots within a thot selection under the framed note or thot. This action is disabled if no thots currently belong to the active thot selection.
