Extracted Note
An extracted note is a hosted note whose header thot has been extracted outside of the root thot's thot tree.
Creating an extracted note
Creating an extracted note can be done in a few different ways:
- using a keyboard shortcut to create a sibling thot to the root thot,
- selecting a branch thot and continually pressing the
Extract Relevance icon on the toolbar, or - selecting a branch thot and continually pressing the
Extract Context icon on the toolbar.
When a thot is extracted outside of its host note's context, it is piled into Default Context by default. The Pile is implied by being extracted even if it's not shown in the user interface. Once the extracted thot is moved or once the user explicitly gives it a sponsor, its sponsors will appear under the header thot's metadata.
